In their first game of the Basketball Ireland Development League (BIDL), SETU Waterford Vikings took the win against Tipp Talons in a very competitive game in Carrickphierish Sports Hall.

SETU Waterford Vikings took an early lead and led 21-15 at the end of the first quarter. Tipp Talons went on a 9-0 run in the second quarter to tie the game at half time 32-32.

In the third quarter SETU Waterford Vikings surged ahead with a dominant 21-11 run led by Daniel Sheehan's 9 points to lead by 10 going into the fourth.

Tipp Talons kept the pressure on in the fourth but SETU Waterford Vikings did enough to get the win with a final score of 68-61.

Top scorers for Vikings were Daniel Sheehan (20)and Marius Huber (15).
